This is certainly one of my all time favourite Marrakech riads.
I thought this the first time I saw it nine years ago – and I very much still feel the same now.
It is right up there in the most sublime top category of medina properties.
I can’t eulogise enough about it.
It is so beautifully designed – in its purist elegant zen style – and so beautifully finished.
It is a 176m2 licensed six bedroom boutique medina hotel – enviably situated in a prime location in the Mellah – on its own private gated alleyway.
The riad is a stunning remodelled ancient and ornate Jewish style riad – particular to the mellah – the old Jewish quarter – where riads were historically much more decorative and elaborate than riads elsewhere.
As can be seen from the photographs there are some exquisite architectural details; – from the fine wooden courtyard cladding, to the plaster work embellishing some of the windows.
Then complimenting this all are some wonderfully appointed interiors.
At present the riad boasts on the ground floor an entrance hall with a boutique, a patio with chill out seating and dining and a plunge pool with a decorative wall fountain, a double salon, a fully equipped modern kitchen, an office, a technical room, a communal loo and a suite. On the first floor is a three sided balcony and four bedrooms with en-suites. Then on the roof terrace is a reserve / laundry room, an array of communal spaces – including a tented area with Ibiza style daybeds, a sixth suite and an upper terrace with an additional daybed and enviable panoramic views.
The property is a mature and thriving business – pulling in a turnover of 2.5m dhs p.a.
The business is being sold as an ongoing concern – and it has proper licensing.
The asking price is 645,000 €.
