It is tucked away beautifully in the Medina in the district of the Royal Kasbah and is a rare find indeed.

Its decor encapsulates the most enchanting and oriental style, and its business has steadily been built up by two utterly charming English owners.

The hotel is only small – boasting 220m2 of living space. Yet its distinction lies in the authenticity and originality of its ambience.

The authenticity of the architectural decoration is reflected in a richly textured use of colour and pattern in the salons, which are the original reception rooms of an ancestral family house. On a small and intimate scale the interior of the house represents a tradition that has been the hallmark of Marrakech palaces for centuries: painted cedar wood ceilings and doors, carved plasterwork and hand cut polychromatic mosaic tiles.

On the upper level of the hotel, a patio decorated with hand made bricks and tiles leads to two roof terraces with panoramic views of the surrounding minarets, palaces and sights of the old city. Seen from terracing in the winter and spring, the snow capped peaks of the Atlas mountains rise above the silhouettes of the elegant palm trees that border the Royal Agdal Gardens, originally planted in the 12th century.

It is atypical guesthouse composed on the ground floor of a leafy entrance, an entrance hall and an independent double bedroom. On the first floor is a beautiful original Douirya boasting a central reception room and two side rooms with a library and a lounge, and also a store room and bathroom. Then on the second floor is a patio with several pergolas, a fully fitted kitchen, and three large double bedrooms. Finally on the two lots of upper terracing is an open salon with a private balcony and a solarium and dining space.
