This has to be one of my all time favourite Quentin Wilbaux medina properties.
It is quite simply sublime. And absolutely rocks!!!
Positioned in the souks – in the beating atmospheric heart of old marrakech – it is situated in a seriously funky old derb.
Hopefully from the photographs one has a sense of its age – and antiquity – and ambience.
It is deigned as a rental property slash small guest house and is configured around a leafy and cool zen like courtyard – filled with cascades of exotic climbers.
The house is blessed with an abundance of antique detailing; from its exquisite hand carved doors and awnings and decorative first floor balcony, to the rusty wrought iron windows and hand sculpted ceilings.
The house truly has it all.
The style – as per Quentin Wilbaux’s classic palette – is with soft and simple wall and floor finishes – in biege tadelakt and whitewashed plaster.
These help to amplify the drama of the striking Moroccan architecture.
The house is super cozy and super generous – with a wonderful spread of living space and seriously generous bedrooms – including two apartments with their own lounges.
At present the riad boasts on the ground floor a lovely long entrance hall with a guest loo and storage, a patio with a central fountain and a bhou, a fully fitted kitchen, a winter salon with a fireplace and a first suite. On the first floor is an open salon, a decorative balcony with antique fretting, an apartment with a sculpted njeema ceiling and antique window decoration, and a double apartment with two bedrooms. Then on the roof terrace is a solarium, a laundry room and an upper terrace with a pergola.
The price upon application.
